The Endoscopy Unit is one of a number of schemes which redefine the Royal South Hants Hospital into a flagship Treatment Centre offering local people modern, high quality elective care, and become the focus for the Trust's outpatient services by adapting and re-using existing buildings in a more intensive manner.

The project required extensive consultation with the clinical staff to develop the briefing documentation, room data sheets and layouts, followed by continual liaison to ensure patient services were maintained throughout the construction period

Interior design skills have been used to transform the formerly institutional environment into a more lively and attractive unit, with the bold use of colour, patterns and complimentary soft furnishings.

The scheme's concept was based around providing the unit with a dynamic vibrant interior whilst providing a ‘fresh' place to work and a relaxed atmosphere for treatment.
