MISCELLANEOUS PROJECTS
Pharmaceutical
Client: GlaxoSmithKline
Location: Dartford , Kent
Value: £4m
This project comprised the construction of a 4-storey building for the production of a pharmaceutical product, located within a major existing manufacturing facility. The building has a steel portal frame with concrete floors, masonry walling to 3m height with profiled steel cladding above, matching the style of other production buildings on the site. The interior is designed to house two streams of production, based upon a vertical process module, and also contains support facilities and plant space. The engineering services are highly complex and required close coordination. Construction works also included substantial site works, including the reprofiling of a lagoon and extensive storm, foul and effluent drainage. The project was also an example of collaborative working, with all drawings and documentation shared electronically between design and construction team members via a secure project extranet.
Petrochemical
Client: ExxonMobil Chemical Ltd
Location: Fawley, Hampshire
Value: £100,000 and £450,000
A number of projects have been undertaken at Fawley, one of the largest and most complex oil refining and petrochemical manufacturing sites in Europe .
A new security gatehouse and vehicle marshalling area has been built at one of the main entry points into the 3,200 acre site, providing modern facilities for the personnel undertaking this round-the-clock operation. For safety reasons the building has been constructed to resist collapse should a catastrophic explosion occur within the site.
Another project involves alterations and refurbishment within a building containing control equipment for a number of the petrochemical plants, upgrading the administration and amenity facilities for both the console operators and engineers who operate and maintain the plant.

Alterations and refurbishment of an industrial unit to provide facilities for a commercial laundry, including extensive engineering services, above and below ground drainage and a new plant room.
